Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson needs his team to reach the Western Conference Finals to keep his job, multiple sources told Sea Dubs Central.

Management wants to see a marked improvement, and anything less than that will be seen as a step backwards, according to one source.

Another source said the situation with management and Mark Jackson is ‘cut and dry’.

Questions have surrounded Jackson’s future a majority of this season with multiple players weighing in, including Steph Curry, who gave full support to Jackson.

With a season full of coaching turmoil, including the reassignment of assistant Brian Scalabrine to Santa Cruz, and the firing of Darren Erman for recording various conversations with players and coaches, the future doesn’t bode well for Jackson.

Zach Lowe of Grantland.com reported Tuesday just how awkward the situation in Golden State has become:

“Jackson has asked that Jerry West, a high-level adviser in Golden State, not attend most practices and team activities, sources say.”

Without a show of improvement, Jackson will be shown the exit regardless of the team’s support for Jackson.
